Great Vermont Corn Maze

The BIG Maze covers 24 acres and is approximately a 2+ hour hike. The 3 miles of dirt trails are lined with 10' tall walls of corn. Throughout the BIG Maze are unique things from past mazes and 100' of bridges. An Emergency Exit trail also covers most of the maze giving you a chance to take a break, grab a snack or use the restrooms without having to start over from the beginning.

The SCENIC Maze is approximately a 40 minute hike through the BIG Maze using directions found along the way. The Scenic Maze allows people to see the unique things we have within the BIG Maze, but without the hours of frustration. Unique things found in the maze include an underground tunnel, dinosaurs, bridges with panoramic views and new surprises every year.

Willoughby State Forest

The most spectacular attraction of this area is Lake Willoughby and the adjacent cliffs of Mount Hor (2648 feet) and Mount Pisgah (2751 feet) that rise from the lake. This area possesses significant ecological, recreational, and aesthetic values. The highest peak in the forest is Bald Mountain at 3315 feet in elevation. Lake Willoughby is 1653 acres in size with a maximum depth of 308 feet, making it one of the deepest lakes in the northeastern United States.

Dog Mountain is set on 150 acres on a private mountaintop spot in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The grounds are always open to people and their dogs. Stephen Huneck and his wife, Gwen, bought the property in 1995. They turned the barn into studio space. After Stephen’s unique visionary experience, the Dog Chapel soon followed. The Dog Chapel opened its doors Memorial Day weekend of 2000. The unspoiled haven is covered with hiking trails and dog ponds. Wildflowers abound in the summer and snow-shoeing is a favorite activity in the winter. Year after year, the Dog Chapel and the Stephen Huneck Gallery get more and more visitors from all over the world.
